Special Messengers: Reconnecting with Friends

very person that passes through our lives makes a contribution to our life stories. There are those who play large roles and make deep impressions, but sometimes a brief special appearance before life takes them in another direction creates a meaningful connection. It is a rare gift when they suddenly reappear in our lives after a long absence.

Though the world may seem full of more people than we could ever know, we are often drawn to people with similar energy, which brings us together time and time again. On first meeting, the characters in our life stories may seem familiar. We may know each other from past lives or perhaps we merely recognize the energy of a kindred sp
irit. But when fate brings old friends back into our lives, there is always a reason. They may act as messengers, reminding us of a part of ourselves we have forgotten to nurture. They might appear to give us a chance to react in a new way to an old situation. They may even bring up unresolved issues so that we may complete them, giving us the chance to move forward on our life path. Whether old friends, previous romances, or once and future partners, their reappearance is more than mere chance. They may never know what they bring into our lives, but the renewed contact is a gift.

If this hasn’t happened to you, maybe you are meant to initiate contact by seeking out old friends. If old friends come to mind or into your dreams, use their appearance as an excuse to get in touch. If an old song or movie reminds you of them, reach out to share the gift of renewed contact. Wherever you fall in the circle of connection and reconnection, be sure to look beyond the surprise of the moment to enjoy the deeper gift that this revelation brings.

Signs of Global Warming

Just got back from Vegas, NV with some girlfriends. Good trip and lovely weather, I will blog about this later as there were fun adventures...(to be continued).

When we returned home and landed into the Sacramento Airport, I felt the heat and the sun beaming against my face as I was finishing up another chapter "Eat Pray Love"(a fantastic book if I may add). It was like 89 degrees, and when I left on Friday it was only like 73 or so. This morning I checked the weather and I was shocked!! Take a look at this:

Tell me how it can be 93 degrees one day, and a few days later it drops by more than 20 degrees. This is definitely global warming at its peak. I am sensing this summer is going to be blazing hot and very humid.

It's nice to see the sunshine in all, but I don't like these drastic shifts to the weather pattern. It honestly worries me. I think it also stated that Saturday/Sunday will be in the 60's and raining. Wow... that is some crazy drop in weather!! Anyways, just wanted to share my shock on the weather pattern.

Today is Four-Twenty! HAPPY 4/20! YES! May we all send glees to the trees and save Mother Earth.

PEACE & LOVE!

Time to jam out on the records and enjoy the day =)

Putting Your Selves Together: Integrating Our Many Selves

Human beings are multidimensional creatures. Our identity is made up of the sum total of our many traits and values and our character. Each of us possesses within us many different selves. There is the adult part of ourselves and the childlike spirit that resides in each one of us. There is our masculine side and our feminine side. There is the hard worker in us, the artist, the parent, and the caretaker. All of these selves combined form a well-rounded, complex person. Not all of these different aspects of who we are blend easily with each other, however, and some of them may even conflict with or oppose one another. When a person’s different parts clash, such as the self that is our childlike aspect and the self that is our responsible adult, we often end up compartmentalizing or suppressing one of these aspects to ease the conflict. While this may make us feel better in the short run, we would be better off finding a way for these two selves to coexist peacefully inside us.

Though some of our selves may be dominant while others rarely assert themselves, attempts to suppress one or more of these different aspects can leave us feeling that our identity has been splintered. Being able to successfully integrate our various selves can be as simple as accepting and embracing each one. It may also be necessary to reframe the way you see them. The immature self that you ridicule can become a valued and accepted part of you when redefined as your more playful aspect. Journaling can help you acknowledge and understand the different parts that make up your identity.

When your many selves blend together to form an integrated individual, you will feel changed. You will no longer feel pulled in multiple directions, and you will never again have to deny any part of yourself. You become a complete person—familiar and comfortable with the many selves that make up the person you are.

Busy Creating

This morning I decided to work on some creative signage for the office. I made a 6" x 95" board to cover the open space that was created when I remodeled one of the rooms. So for awhile there was this ugly rectangular concrete along the carpet where the wall was cut. haha. I wonder if that even makes sense, but yeah simply put, it just covers up something that was ugly on the floor. (The piece is made from 1/4" thick white acrylic with 2-color vinyl overlay... cut on the Roland Versa-Camm <3)

Then I decided to make some fun mini pvc cut-out labels to hang on the wall to let clients know what we carry and all that good jazz. I cut out full color decals and laid it over 1/8" white PVC. Good Fun. <3 Hmm.. I think I'll install it tomorrow morning...

PS. Last night went to my grandma's house for dinner and some offerings stuff. It was good times. My dad is back from Vietnam & China (after 2 months) and it is great to have him back. I see that he is much uplifted and happier. (= This puts a grand smile on my face!

I feel special. Thanks mom! I love you =)

First Day of Spring =)

How lovely the weather!! The sun is shining and life is good. This week was quite productive and uplifting. For a few months the company was slow... of course due to the economy. But I can't say that we are slow anymore! This week brought a lot of new projects and production. We have to keep on grinding and hustlin in this economic state.

I am looking forward to this season. The only downfall is allergies.. blah! I get pretty horrid allergies during this time of year. Hahah. Luckily, it has not hit me too hard as of yet. =P Keep my nasal clear please.... Happy Spring Time!

I've been practicing on my turntables a lot. I usually practice for a couple hours per day. I believe I am slowly getting the blending/mixing aspect down. Honestly, just going home and throwing on a vinyl record is all you need to jam out. Also, record shopping is the best! I feel so happy when I am doing it!! Not only am I supporting great artists, I am experiencing a new adventure every time I listen to the new record. The music is more crisp and authentic... there's no compressed mp3 sound. It's just good clean music!

Check out the Set-Up! <3 I'll post pics of my cool new skull candy headphones next time...<3

Universal Messages: Signs

The universe can often relay messages to us through signs. Often, we are too busy to stop and consider what may or may not be a sign. We may ask the universe for guidance, yet fail to recognize the sign it sends us in response. Learning the subtle language of signs can help you interpret the guidance the universe sends your way. We all have been blessed with a connection that allows the universe to communicate directly with us. To be able to understand the information relayed over that connection, however, it is necessary that we learn to pay attention and know what to look for.

To see and correctly interpret a sign, you must open your heart and mind to the universe and invite its guidance into your life. Many of us are blind to the signs we receive because we expect angels or our spirit guides to speak to us in a booming voice and tell us exactly what we need to hear. But signs are usually of this earth and therefore easier to encounter. A song lodged in your mind or a number that seems to pop up everywhere you look after you’ve asked the universe for guidance can both be signs. Signs may come through the animal world, from strangers, or jump out of a book in the form of an insightful passage. A sign may be a direct answer to one of your questions. Other signs may point you in the right direction, warn of impending difficulties, or show you a different way. If you want the universe to send you a sign, tell it that you are ready and willing to accept its guidance.

Not everything you hear or see will be a sign. If you are receptive and patient, however, the signs you receive will become easier to recognize. It is important to listen to your intuition. A sign can mean many things to different people, and only you can decipher a sign’s meaning is for you. As you practice reading the signs and following their guidance, the universe will send more of them your way.

My Gemini Horoscope for Today =)

I have a meeting with the California Lottery today to pitch them a million dollar proposal. I've been working very hard to prepare for this meeting and I definitely hope to be awarded the bid! =) So I was reading my horoscopes for today and it really makes me just want to keep on pursuing and doing the best I can do.

No Obstacle Too Great
Gemini Daily Horoscope

Your attentions may lie with your prospects today, and you will likely spend a great deal of time mulling over what you hope the future will bring. Even though you may strive to conceive of positive expectations, thoughts of what might go wrong can intrude upon your optimistic reflections. You should not devote too much time to your worries, however, as the determination prompting you to meet your most ambitious goals will likely also feed your hopefulness. If you believe in yourself and in the inevitability of your success, you will no doubt discover that there are literally no challenges with the power to keep you from fulfillment.

When we treat the obstacles that stand between us and our goals as temporary delays on the trek leading us toward fulfillment, we are less likely to allow setbacks to interfere with our optimism. In the face of grave circumstances, it is easy to lose hope. However, we net nothing when we give up our commitment to our dreams because we believe that accomplishment is impossible. Our capacity for achievement is more often than not a matter of attitude and outlook. If we truly believe that success is in our future, we inevitably concern ourselves with the practical matters associated with attaining it, rather than dwell upon how long our journey will take or the challenges we will inevitably face along the way. Your persevering approach to goal realization will serve you well today, ensuring that you remain unrelenting even in the face of seemingly insurmountable adversity.

Google Horsocope:
You could be at the top of your professional game with this imaginative Pisces New Moon falling in your 10th House of Career. Others look up to you now, even if you believe that someone else could quickly take over in the leadership role. Don't waste time worrying about if you can do your job better than anyone else. Comparisons are useless; just show up consistently and give it all you've got.

It’s Never Too Late, Getting Back To What You Love

There are times in life when we are committed to pursuing our passions. Every molecule in our body is focused on doing what we love. At other times, necessity and responsibility dictate that we put our dreams aside and do what needs to be done. It is during these moments that we may choose to forget what it is that we love to do. There are many other reasons for why we may leave our passions behind. A hobby may lose its appeal once we’ve realize it will never turn into our dream job. Someone important to us may keep telling us that our passions are childish and unsuitable – until we finally believe them.

Forgetting about what you love to do can be a form of self-sabotage. If you can forget about your dreams, then you never have to risk failure. But just because we’ve decided to ignore our passions doesn’t mean they no longer exist. Nothing can fill the emptiness that remains in a space vacated by a passion that we have tossed aside. Besides, life is too short to stop doing what you love, and it is never too late to rediscover your favorite things. If you gave up playing an instrument, painting, drawing, spending time in nature, or any other activity or interest that you once loved to do, now may be the time to take up that passion again. If you don’t remember what it is that you used to be passionate about, you may want to think about the activities or interests that you used to love or the dreams that you always wished you could pursue.

You don’t have to neglect your responsibilities to pursue your passions, and you don’t have to neglect your commitments to do what you love. When you make an effort to incorporate your interests into your life, the fire within you ignites. You feel excited, inspired, and fed by the flames that are sparked by living your life with passion for what you love.

Direction of Happiness : Leaving a Relationship ...

One of the hardest decisions we ever make in life is leaving a long-term relationship that just isn’t working. When attempts at repairing and working out issues aren’t working, it may be time to examine moving on. We are emotional creatures, and when our heartstrings are tied to those of another, separating from that person can feel like an act of courage. It is not something most of us will take lightly, and many of us will struggle with our desire to stay in a relationship that is unfulfilling simply in order to avoid that pain. We may question whether the happiness we seek even exists, and we may wonder if we might be wiser to simply settle where we are, making the best of what we have.

On the one hand, we almost relish the idea that true happiness is not out there so that we can avoid the pain of change. On the other hand, we feel within ourselves a yearning to fulfill our desire for relationships that are vital and healing. Ultimately, most of us will follow this call, because deep within ourselves we know that we deserve to be happy. We all deserve to be happy, no matter where we find ourselves in this moment, and we are all justified in moving, like plants toward the light, in the direction that leads to our greatest fulfillment. First, though, we may need to summon the courage to move on from the relationship that appears to be holding us back.

Taking the first steps will be hard, but the happiness we find when we have freed ourselves from a situation that is draining our energy will outshine any hardship we undergo to get there. Keeping our eyes trained on the horizon, we begin the work of disentangling ourselves from the relationship that no longer fits. Every step brings us closer to a relationship that will work, and the freedom we need to find the happiness we deserve.

Chinese New Year =)

So its officially Chinese New Year Weekend and another new year to wishing good fortune, harmony, and prosperity. This is the year of the ox. Gung Hei Fat Choi!!

I think the American New Year didn't do it for me so I hope that this Chinese New Year will bring me more strength, wisdom, and happiness. Last year was so draining and full of struggles. None that I regret at all, just it's time to breathe out all the tension and disappoints and move forward. Yes!! One day at a time....

So Sunday I'm heading to Hong Kong Wok to pick up the roast duck. Yuummy! And taking that down to my mom's house to add to the dinner entrees. She makes great food around this time. It's all so light and colorful. I should take some pictures. Speaking of which, I just got a new camera from costco. My other one broke and the auto focus is all messed up. So I got one for about $99 bucks. Not bad eh?!

My dad is actually going to be in Vietnam & China for the New Years. He should be back in mid March. I'm excited for him, he definitely needs a vacation and I can tell he's had alot on his mind. Hopefully he'll find another element of himself in his travels. I will miss him dearly. Wishing him a strong and happy trip.

We're closed on Monday for the New Years so that will be very nice and relaxing. I plan to have a nice Mylan day. =)

The Real Thing: Love Should Feel Good

Often in our lives, we fall prey to the idea of a thing rather than actually experiencing the thing itself. We see this at play in our love lives and in the love lives of our friends, our family, and even fictional characters. The conceptualizing, depiction, and pursuit of true love are multimillion-dollar industries in the modern world. However, very little of what is offered actually leads us to an authentic experience of love. Moreover, as we grasp for what we think we want and fail to find it, we may suffer and bring suffering to others. When this is the case, when we suffer more than we feel healed, we can be fairly certain that what we have found is not love but something else.

When we feel anxious, excited, nervous, and thrilled, we are probably experiencing romance, not love. Romance can be a lot of fun as long as we do not try to make too much of it. If we try to make more of it than it is, the romance then becomes painful. Romance may lead to love, but it may also fade without blossoming into anything more than a flirtation. If we cling to it and try to make it more, we might find ourselves pining for a fantasy, or worse, stuck in a relationship that was never meant to last.

Real love is identifiable by the way it makes us feel. Love should feel good. There is a peaceful quality to an authentic experience of love that penetrates to our core, touching a part of ourselves that has always been there. True love activates this inner being, filling us with warmth and light. An authentic experience of love does not ask us to look a certain way, drive a certain car, or have a certain job. It takes us as we are, no changes required. When people truly love us, their love for us awakens our love for ourselves. They remind us that what we seek outside of ourselves is a mirror image of the lover within. In this way, true love never makes us feel needy or lacking or anxious. Instead, true love empowers us with its implicit message that we are, always have been, and always will be, made of love.

Going Deep: Self-Examination at Depth

There are times when life urges us to seek more. Small changes to our comfort zone may fail to alleviate any sense of stagnancy or frustration, and we may need to examine our lives and ourselves more deeply to find the right place to start. Everything we need for success and joy lies within. But so often, life’s debris accumulates, building layers around our core that makes it difficult to access the truth that resides within. To reach the depth we wish to access, we must dive below these layers to the deepest parts of ourselves.

The first layer can be found in our minds. Our to-do lists and busy work are usually less important than we think, so we must look past them to examine the thoughts that matter most to us. The next layer can be found in our hearts, where past hurts and disappointments can sometimes cover up our vulnerabilities, as well as the truth of who and what really stirs the love within us. We can choose to go even deeper – to our center. If we can go beyond anything has affected us to the point that it blocks us at the gut level, we can reconnect with our power, our raw instincts, our organic yeses. Here, at the core, lies our truth. Our core is our foundation that supports us and what we’d like to build our authentic life upon.

When we examine ourselves to these depths, we are able to find what we wish to bring to the surface and what we wish to let go. When we remember what lies beneath our layers, we can look at what was floating on the surface, causing blocks and pains, and understand the purpose that they served. Oftentimes, it is the built up debris that causes us to go deeper, so we can search for the truth. Go deep, live life from your truth within, and watch your innate beauty manifest outward.

Tonight.

I started the morning out writing something, and now I get this sudden rush to want to write something more .

Today was a typical day at work and things were going well. But later on in the afternoon I got news about, lets call it a "serious matter". I was at fault with the situation. I took the short road out and now I must meet my consequences. What's done is done. I am very angry and disappointed at myself.

The feeling haunted me throughout the day... I barely remember driving home, I was so dazed. I kept saying things like, "what if you just..." "why didnt you..." "how can you..." I got home and tried to do things to get my mind off the whole sitation , but it didn't work. I started to have a disgusting feeling in my stomach. I must have been just so angry with myself. The whole fightclub feeling emerged from me for a moment. I wanted to kick some sense into me!

Then IT hit me. IT being the reality of my life and my choices. Maybe what happened earlier today crossed the line and I finally for once...stopped and opened my eyes. The wave of passion and clarity emerged from me and I immediately grabbed a pen and paper.

I sat down and wrote a letter to myself. An intense self-reflection in words I felt very close to my heart. I know now what is right, what is truth, and what is me. And if I still don't know these things before I die, I will have lived a life not for me.

Good Night.

::...happy new year...::

It's officially here... YEAR 2009!

Sacramento had their very first ball drop this year... It was nothing close to the one they have in Times Square... but I was pleased that they did something like this for the Sac town community. So pre-drank, walked around downtown, saw great people, warm feelings, got wasted, fell many times, sores & bruises all over the body. Blah! I don't really remember falling as much as I was told. haha.

Anyhoo. Holiday break was lovely as planned. Good times with the people I care most about. So I have to say life is looking up.

My new years resolution:
1) Bring the business to great heights! (soon to be incorporated! yay!)
2) Be healthier and more active (lots of Vitamin C!)
3) Less drama and more happy times (no more faking the funk!)
4) Surrounding myself with better company (good people)
5) Patience, Hope, and Love are my three objectives! =)
